On May 17th and 18th, infrastructure leaders of the sector and Latin American government authorities gathered at the 3rd Infra Latin America GRI in New York. The MV group was one of the sponsors of this year event. A summit that brought together leaders from some of the most influential organizations in the planet to discuss the current infrastructure challenges in Latim America.
The meeting aimed to dialogue over solutions to leverage investments in Latin America, especially financing, capital markets, risks, compliance, PPPs structuration, in addition to sectorial discussions focused on sanitation, energy, airports and roads.
At the opening of the encounter, Chris Heathcote, CEO do Global Infrastructure Hub, presented a regional development overview and pointed some paths to bypass the investment gap in Latin America. The second day started with an analysis over the urban infrastructure and the future of the cities, with Andre Clark (CEO of Siemens no Brasil), Robert Muggah (founder of Instituto Igarapé) and Eugene Zapata-Garesché (regional director - LAC of 100 Resilient Cities) as panelists.
The event has proven itself once more as a valuable relationship platform in which investors and internacionais operators had the opportunity to dialogue with latin american players over the opportunities of the countries at the region.
With more than 200 participants coming from 16 countries, among them Ana Maria Vidaurre (CDPQ), César Ramírez (Credicorp Capital), Damian Secen (Macquarie Infrastructure & Real Assets), Félix Corral Fernandéz (Sacyr), Jacques Follain (ADP International), Jean Pierre Serani Toro (Grupo Bancolombia), Mark Murski (Brookfield), Mario Gabriel Budebo (MIP - EXI CKD), Mauricio Ossa (Odinsa), Teresa Vernaglia (BRK Ambiental), Willem Van Twembeke (Orazul Energy) and Wilson Ferreira Jr (Eletrobras).
Among the special moments of the encounter, must be highlighted, the GRI Infrastructure Club Advisory Latam Board meeting, where its integrants changed well-succeed experiences towards the common challenges of the region, and the VIP Dinner at the rooftop of the Parker New York Hotel, an unique networking opportunity with an outrageous view over the Central Park.
